Facebook Messenger is the official Facebook app that lets you have text conversations with all of your friends on the popular social network. After Facebook kicked Messenger out of its main app, Facebook gave Messenger its own home on the web, by making Messenger a full-fledged platform that introduced payment system. Now Facebook went a step further, users in Canada, the United States, Peru or Venezuela can sign up for Messenger without a Facebook account. This way Facebook Messenger will be known only as Messenger.
With this update, more people can enjoy all the features that are available on Messenger – including photos, videos, group chats, voice and video calling, stickers and more. All you need is a phone number.
New users will be able to access Messenger through an added option on the landing page: “Not on Facebook?” They click that; then sign up with their name, photo and phone number.
More people have phone number that Facebook account and Facebook wants to involve them in their messenger!
